I designed a small DC wind generator that produces electric power for charging phones, radios, and LED lights. The design is rugged, weatherproof, cheap, and reliable. I aim to contribute to communities without basic electricity by providing this device. With this design, people in rural areas can light their homes using renewable energy. I've updated the instructions with new information about shaft couplers for propellers. You can find them on eBay or AliExpress. The size is 4mm-8mm, but if you have a different coupler, I'll provide custom STL files tailored to your needs. I allowed remixes of this turbine so that people with smaller printing beds can adapt it to their requirements. Just make sure to share the modified design with the community. Happy printing! Since many users suggested improvements for the flin design, I've created two new versions: one with a hole through the center for added stiffness and another without holes. The updated files are "aerodynamic flin design with hole for wire.STL" and "aerodynamic flin_design.STL". I also uploaded some new files based on advice from Hackaday Blog. These include "Housing without gearbox," which allows users to make the entire device without a NEMA17 gearbox. This part is designed to fit standard NEMA 17 motors regardless of amperage. If you use this motor without a gearbox, you won't need a 4-5mm shaft coupler. I recommend using a 3-winged propeller with this motor since it requires less wind power and is lighter. However, a 6-winged propeller will also work fine. The "propeller with 3 wings (1,2,3)" file allows users to make a propeller with three wings. It can use old or new wings with holes for putting metal wire through them for added strength. I also created a hollow flin design for the propeller as recommended by Paul from Hackaday. This design fits a 2mm metal wire and can be used for mig welding.
