Wind Turbine
thingiverse
*Update: New top provides better air flow and a more secure motor mount. Rear wing has been redesigned for improved performance. Upgraded gear system ensures quieter operation and enhanced efficiency. To achieve optimal results, I highly recommend printing the gears in PETG or ABS due to their high heat tolerance. A new column allows for easy outdoor camping by simply sticking it into the grass.* This is a straightforward yet effective wind turbine capable of generating 1 Volt with even the mildest breeze. For those interested, a video demonstrating the assembly process can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQb85M5BKAs To replicate this project, you will need: * Five 3x15mm screws * Two 3x12mm screws * Five 4x15x10mm bearings * One 4x19x13mm bearing The motor used in this design is the same one found in disc readers, but an alternative can be sourced from here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/MABUCHI-RF-300EH-1D390-DVD-CD-Drive-5-9V-DC-Motor-Drive-Model-Making-Hobbyist-/272771785647 I encourage users to share their thoughts on how this design can be improved. I'm eager to hear from you and learn about your experiences with this project, so please feel free to comment with any suggestions or results.
