A compact wind turbine project is underway, utilizing blades and rotor components modified from larsonmattr's Mini-Wind Turbine on Thingiverse. The design includes a motor holder, tower, and base that are all pressure-fitted for convenience. However, the top of the tower meets the motor holder with some room to rotate in strong winds; if a fixed position is desired, a simple modification using glue can achieve this. The motor opening measures 15.2 mm x 19.8 mm, accommodating a rotor that accepts a 2 mm shaft diameter. Note that the base has a tight fit but should be achievable with some effort and patience. The tower's two pieces are easier to connect than the base and tower connection. As for print settings, the project was printed using a MakerBot Replicator 2 at a resolution of 200 micron.
