The turbine is a perfect classroom project, teaching kids about wind power generation. It features in my new book "The Makerspace Workbench" from Maker Media. Construct the tower with 1/8" x 1/4" balsa strips, use a 1/8" dowel for blade support and a 1/8" balsa sheet for blades. The hub allows 3 or 4 blade configurations, adjusting their angle of attack.
