Wind Tail Governor
thingiverse
This is a tailfin governor, designed to slow the thing down in high winds, by tilting the turbine slightly sideways. You will need to use rubber bands to keep the tail held tightly. You can adjust the tension on the rubber bands until it pushes back in a stiff breeze. It takes a 1/2in. dowel to connect the rear tailfin. The fins will pivot on the tail piece with a 1/4 20 bolt, so you may need to clean off any rough edges, so that it pivots smoothly. The tail fins are made from recycled campaign yard signs, and are glued into place.
