11/7/2017 Update: Successfully processed the frame.stl, front_wheel.stl, and rear_wheel.stl files through Slic3r to correct any facet problems. The Wind Bike is an innovative model bicycle featuring rotating wheels and a functional crankset. When wind from a fan blows over the spokes, both the front and rear wheels begin to rotate. To transfer power from the wheel to the crank, simply tie a rubber band or string around the rear wheel hub and the crankset's chainring. The printed model displayed in the images above was produced at 50% size using PLA material at a temperature of 185 degrees C, with a layer height of 0.2mm and supports for the frame to ensure stability. Future enhancements include adding a rider printed from flexible filament, featuring movable legs that will synchronize with the crank arms as they rotate.
