The Wind Lens Turbine is a revolutionary design created by Professor Ohya from Kyushu University to boost electricity production while minimizing environmental impact. Like traditional wind turbines, it captures wind energy but with key modifications for enhanced efficiency. Studies demonstrate that the Wind Lens can generate two to five times more power than conventional wind turbines due to its superior airflow management. The diffuser shape and brim work together to channel air with pinpoint accuracy, resulting in a substantial increase in energy production. The power generated by a wind turbine directly correlates with the swept area and the cube of the wind speed. To significantly boost output, we must either enlarge the swept area or amplify the wind speed. This can be accomplished by attaching a flanged diffuser, as depicted in Fig 1, to the wind turbine, thereby creating separations behind it that draw more air through the rotor blades than a bare turbine. Consequently, blade rotation increases, and energy production surges.
