prusaprinters
A sailing friend of mine needed a vertical 'Little Hawk' style wind indicator that can be mounted at the front of their monohull dinghy i.e. where the painter is tied.I found Kieran's design. But when printed, I found the balance was very tail heavy, so I have modified the design to get it pretty close using 'standard' resolution printing. The vain should fit directly onto a Little Hawk mount, but I found that 4mm knitting needles (cut down to size) are the same diameter shaft.I have also published a retain clip (of my design) which can be used:https://www.printables.com/model/201925-dinghy-wind-indicator-vain-retaining-clipPrint SettingsPrinter Brand:CrealityPrinter: Ender 3 ProRafts:Doesn't MatterSupports: YesResolution:0.2Infill: 100%Filament: Any PLA Your choice, something bright :o) Notes: I used PLA, as I'm a newbie, but a more flexible material should take the knocks better..Also, I would suggest printing upright, as I tried on the side to reduce print time, but the finish on the bottom side where it was in contact with the support wasn't great (see photo of prototypes).I set supports for over 60 degrees, so that I didn't get one inside the centre hole.
