After installing double glazing on our back door, which required a thicker external frame, the door could no longer open far enough for us to reach the wind hook. To solve this problem, I created a simple 3D printed Wind Hook Extender that did the trick. Maybe it will also work for your door - feel free to modify it if necessary!
