Winch Handle Key
thingiverse
The filler caps for water and fuel on my boat require a winch handle to remove them, which necessitates several turns, rendering it virtually impossible to accomplish with a 1 foot long handle. This situation prompted me to seek a solution that utilizes a smaller tool. I discovered the original filler cap wrench by Beoga, but unfortunately, its handle was still too large, prompting me to remix it with a more compact key-style handle. Notably, this redesigned wrench floats if accidentally dropped overboard, which is an improvement over the standard winch handle. Print Settings: Printer: XYZ Davinci 1.0 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 30% Notes: I've printed the key both vertically and horizontally, with grain running across or up/down the key, without noticing significant strength differences between these approaches. Both are suitable. I tend to print keys upright with support for lugs only and bed-only support as this appears to be the neatest approach. However, slowing down the print could potentially eliminate the need for supports altogether; I prefer a faster pace at 100mm/s.
