This outstanding trophy was crafted specifically for the 'World Interiors News Annual Awards' in London 2013. For this momentous occasion, the Saatchi Gallery in London played host to a gathering of esteemed figures from architecture and design at the inaugural World Interiors News Annual Awards ceremony on November 28th, 2013. More than 300 attendees from around the globe joined art historian, broadcaster, and presenter for the evening, Andrew Graham-Dixon, to honor the designs that have significantly impacted the material and cultural landscape over the past year. About the design - 'The diversity of categories at the World Interiors News Annual Awards necessitated finding a way to represent them all in a meaningful manner. I chose "Inspiration" as it encompasses all creative pursuits. After a process seeking to materialize inspiration as a tangible yet abstract form, the concept of the head emerged. The clean and sharp edges modeled after the streamline movement were used to construct a face devoid of expression and gender, representing humans as a whole rather than one group over another; serving as a vessel for inspiration and creativity. Within this vessel, I included representative shapes and forms that symbolize the fields, differentiating the awards by categories. Abstract shapes were chosen for this purpose, as obvious forms might oversimplify the fields and patronize. Negative space was experimented with to place these forms inside cavities cut into the vessel.' Daniel Schunemann, MyMiniFactory designer.
