WIMUv3 hinged square bar holder
thingiverse
OpenSCAD script for a hinged and bolted attachment that attaches a Tyndall WIMUv3 to square bars. The model is parametric, allowing users to vary the bar size. The code needs improvement to enhance parametrics, testing, adding "wiggle" for bolts and nuts, choosing WIMU holder orientation, and optional corner fins. It also requires other modules like mouse_ears_test, pivot_1\_0, and rounded\_cuboid\_v2.4.scad. The attachment provides a two-part holder for the Tyndall WIMUv3 with customizable hinge/bolt hole positions along sides. Changes in version 0.9 include added tolerance for bar fit, second bolt pivot, and optional corner fins to prevent thermal stress cracks when printing in black ABS. To use, measure the bar stock and item dimensions and adjust script variables accordingly. Print, clean up, assemble two halves with nuts, bolts, or plastic filament, insert electronic device into cavity, attach to instrumented item by wrapping around square bar stock, and bolt tightly in place. Perform experiments and profit!
