I wanted a case that would really stand out for my C64, but I also liked the design of the WiModem case already up here. So, I decided to create something entirely new with interchangeable face plates that let you customize it to your taste. To get started, I included three different designs in the files and printed two examples, painting them afterwards. However, you could easily use a 3D printer with multifilament capabilities to produce the face plates in various colors instead. The light on the board shines through 1/8-inch acrylic rods that fit into the 2.5mm holes on the face. Simply measure the length, snap off the excess, and then polish the ends using progressively finer sandpaper. Next, apply a small amount of superglue to the inside of the tube and securely attach it in place. The face plates are held in place by friction alone, but I designed the case so you could also glue one on permanently if needed. The modem board comes out via two screws located at the front, allowing for easy removal. To secure the modem board itself, use two #4 1/2-inch metal screws. They're long enough to cut their own threads as you screw them in, but be careful not to overtighten since this could easily strip the hole. Just tighten them snugly and you'll be good to go.
