Wilson ii X carriage utilizing Lulzbot Taz toolhead
thingiverse
In the middle of constructing a Wilson II reprap, but already owning a Taz 6 and having used a Taz 5, I wanted to take advantage of the changeable printhead design of Lulzbot printers. So I created a file using the bearing location of the Wilson II but attached it to the X-Carriage of a Lulzbot. I also designed nut locations to replace the brass inserts that Lulzbot uses. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 6 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .25 Infill: 50 Notes: UPDATE 12/19/2016 - I received reports of binding on the bearings in linear travel. I went in and moved one mount .2mm, and also thickened the bearing walls 1mm to help strengthen against breaking. UPDATE 11/13/2016 - I uploaded a new version (2.1) where I added a location for the endstop to hit on the carriage. The original design was very compact and missed triggering the endstop. UPDATE 11/02/2016 - I uploaded another version of the x-carriage. I have printed this one and have it mounted on the rails of the Wilson II. I also designed a file to print linear bearings, which I did for mine, and they seem to work wonderfully. You will need to print four of them in total. I am still in the process of printing and building the Wilson II. If I find any issues, I'll correct and upload a new STL.
