Willys MB - unsorted stuff

thingiverse

This is an evolving project. Periodically, new files will be added, mostly in the form of .png images and .lua code for use with IceSL editor and slicer. Some miscellaneous items for a 1:10 scale model of the Willys MB include: * _Tyre_: A hollow tire based on bret4, which can be created using 'tyre.lua' in IceSL. Place the MB_Jeep_Tire.stl file in the same directory to print it without support (using SoftPLA filament with a 0.2mm layer height). Added August 15, 2017, updated August 17, 2017. * _Jerry can and holder_: A detailed jerry can holder based on ossum and Intashu designs. The jerry can prints fine standing alone, the holder prints fine standing with support, and the strap guide can be printed at a 0.2mm layer height if laid flat on the print bed. Added August 15, 2017. * _Rims and spare tire holder_: Modified bret4 rims to resemble the real thing for front, rear, and spare tires, along with a tire holder. The outer rims connect to the axle (to be added), while the inner rims are cosmetic features intended to be glued together using hot glue. The spare tire holder requires proper adhesive (acetone for ABS). Added August 23, 2017. * _Chassis front bumper_: A front bumper design that closely resembles the real thing, meant to be glued to the frame without screws. Added August 23, 2017. * _tyre_50_pitch.stl_: An alternative tire with a 16 x 6.0 size and 5.2 cap width, featuring manually generated support. Print it with 3 shells, 10 cover layers, and 100% infill without support. This STL is large due to its conversion from sliced layers, taking time to load and slice (376074 vertices, 805442 triangles). A revised version with reduced material will follow for faster printing. Added August 26, 2017. Current work in progress (last updated November 30, 2017), including pictures: * New frame * Merged body parts (front: fenders, hood) and (rear: tub, fenders, tailgate) * Powerful motor (A2212 brushless motor with gearbox, tested with 4S) * New front axle housing (new top cover, including a servo mount) * Transmission gearbox (distributing power to front and back wheels), the axles going through this gearbox have holes at both ends for M2 self-tapping sunken screws. The connection between the axle and dogbone cans or gears becomes very strong without using any adhesive. Work in progress items (to be updated later): * _Steering wheel_ (STL not printed, design_steering_wheel.stl) * _Seats_ (low resolution STL, work in progress, prints fine with support, added August 2, 2017) * _Windshield_ (low resolution STL, consisting of three parts, too wide for printing, added August 3, 2017) Things to come maybe later: * A donor car mod for a 1/24 scale 4WD vehicle based on the SUBOTECH BG1510A, BG1510B, BG1510C, GP Rider5, FSTgo BG1510B, and other clones. This model has an optimal width but is too short and very fast. Maybe it'll become a high-speed Willys MB.
