The grandfather of the Jeep is the Willys MB, which was developed in the 1940s as a small, affordable, and mass-produced 4x4 truck. Soldiers adored this vehicle for its ruggedness and agility. This compact model, crafted from seven layers of plywood, showcases distinctive features such as the nine-slot steel grille, spare tire, and gasoline canister mounted on the back. I deliberately omitted additional details like the steering wheel to avoid fragile elements. The glue-up process still requires some finesse, but cutting the parts is a breeze. I used 6.3 mm beech plywood and 5 mm beech rods for the axles. A desktop CNC machine by StepCraft cut the parts using a 1.2 mm spiral-toothed flute. I carefully orientated the body parts to achieve an alternating pattern with the plywood, sacrificing closer nesting for this effect. Laser cutting could have also been used, but orientation mattered. For more toy car designs, visit https://www.zenziwerken.de/en/Toys/Cars. Due to a lack of access to 3D printing capabilities, I did not attempt to add three-dimensional parts. The STL file provided is for viewing purposes only and will not print well with an FDM printer! The design was created entirely in 2D using Illustrator, while SketchUp helped me visualize the model in 3D before cutting any material. This allowed me to identify potential errors and get a feel for the finished product. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1j-Kq0TiWk
