Large sloping boulder located northwest of Willy Hall's Spout, south of White Wells on Ilkley Moor. Situated within a small woodland area on higher ground between two streams, this rock slopes downward to the southeast against the natural terrain. First documented by John Romilly Allen in 1879, it was cataloged as IAG258 in the 2003 publication 'Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding' and subsequently added to ERA by the CSI team Willy Hall's Wood. The stone features a intricate design consisting of interconnected curvilinear grooves, cups, and rings. Is the design zoomorphic in nature? In the early 2000s, it suffered a vandalism attack using red paint, with specks still visible today. Historic England has scheduled this site at https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1012011. The ERA/CSI Record can be accessed at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=2343. A 3D model was created from 24 stereo pairs captured by Dave Spencer and Peter Butler during the CSI recording in July 2013, forming part of the CSI / ERA archive.
