Willow pollen
sketchfab
Pollen from goat willow (Salix caprea, Salicaceae) emerges as a unique specimen. Male willow catkins stand out from other flowers due to the absence of petals or sepals - they're just clusters of pollen-bearing stamens and nectar glands in full display. A technical description of Salix caprea pollen by Paldat (Hesse & Halbritter, 2016) reveals small isopolar monads with spheroidal or prolate shapes, circular or lobate in polar view, tricolporate, featuring a reticulate exine.
