Wild Boar Cooking

Wild Boar Cooking

myminifactory

A sculptural ensemble depicting the preparation of a wild boar for cooking takes center stage. Two figures with faintly silenic characteristics are positioned around the boar, which is partially submerged in a cauldron. The younger figure bends downward to blow life into an ember, while the second prepares the wild boar for its impending culinary fate. Due to the distinctiveness of the theme and the rendering of the characters, this group can be attributed to middle Hellenistic production from the second century B.C. This object is part of "Scan The World," a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory that aims to create a digital repository of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe, accessible for free to the public. Scan The World is an open-source community project; if you have interesting items in your vicinity and would like to contribute, email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can participate.
