Wii Memory Card Door Hinge Component for Transparent Housing
thingiverse
When installing my Wii transparent housing I decided to omit the two shielding plates as well as the cooling shroud (do this at your own risk) in order to get the clearest possible view of the consoles innards. While the removal of the shielding didn't make any difference structurally, the removal of the cooling shroud left the memory card door loose and askew since part of its hinge was a component of the cooling shroud. This print discretely restores that hinge's functionality. To install use the existing cooling shroud screw as shown. Side notes on this housing: - The provided screws are pretty bad and can strip easily so you may be better off using the screws from the original housing - For mine, the GameCube port doors were missing the little notches meant to secure them closed to the body of the console. I applied dots of clear nail polish to add these notches. The result works well and is very discrete.
