Wii Gamecube Controller Port Cover
thingiverse
I'm posting this pre-print right now as I print it out. This is a custom top cover for the Wii, something I designed myself after mine suffered damage - the knobs broke off. I based my design on the Gamecube's memory cover and measured everything carefully. If anyone has a better model available, please let me know, because I couldn't find one anywhere I looked. Until then, I'll keep working on this one. Edit #1: I noticed that the leftmost knob was slightly above the actual dimensions of the Wii, so I fixed it. Also, I printed it out and it failed due to a printing issue - somehow, I had 0% infill set, which caused problems. I'll be printing it again soon. Edit #2: It's finally printed successfully! However, the knobs are incredibly fragile, making it hard to remove the support material. I also experienced some serious oozing issues during the print process. Additionally, I realized that the knobs' orientation was based on the Gamecube memory cover, but they're oriented differently in reality - so I corrected that mistake. Also, I noticed that the knobs were 2 mm too large, which I've since adjusted. I'm hoping this one turns out perfectly and fits my Wii perfectly, printing again now! Edit #3: It's printed and it fits on my Wii, but it's a bit off-center. The knobs are also slightly too big, but they're hardly noticeable unless you look closely - even then, you can sand them down to make it fit better. After some minor sanding, it looks much smoother and has more flush corners. I plan to add the memory cover later on, but for now, this will do just fine!
