Wiewcatcher basic viewfinder for film photographic formats
thingiverse
This is a versatile tool called a viewfinder that works with several film formats (24x36, 4x5, and 6x6). To use it, simply open the slide until you reach the mark corresponding to your desired format and take a look through the window. I frequently use this device with my 4x5 large-format camera before taking it out of my bag. The equivalent view to that produced by my 150mm lens (in 4x5 format) is achieved by separating the viewfinder from my eyebrow by four fingers of my hand, excluding my thumb. You need to test this device next to your camera to determine the measurement equivalent to the lens you're using. This tool allows you to look for frames or crops without having to mount your field camera on a tripod. For example, if I work with three lenses (90mm, 150mm, and 300mm), using the viewfinder for my 150mm lens means I'll know which lens to use before I even take my camera out of my bag. The viewfinder is slightly larger than a credit card and is easy to carry in your pocket, even during a walk without your camera, when searching for landscape frames for the next day.
