He melted down the Stark family's prized sword, Ice, to forge two new blades. The smaller of the two was presented as a gift to King Joffrey on his wedding day to Margaery Tyrell and was named Widow's Wail in honor of its intended fate. However, Joffrey claimed Widow's Wail for only a brief time, naming it before meeting his demise by drinking poisoned wine on the very same day. The sword lay unused until it was later reclaimed by Jaime Lannister.
