I've been on a mission to find the perfect balsa planer tool - one that's broad enough to get the job done efficiently. Unfortunately, I couldn't track down a suitable option, so I decided to design my own tool that incorporates standard blades. This project isn't meant to replace professional-grade equipment; it's more of a DIY solution for enthusiasts like myself who need something simple and effective. I opted for an 18mm standard blade, which worked beautifully. The standard cutting blade I used has two beveled sides, but I've found that a single-beveled blade is often preferred for this type of application. Check out this example product on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/62901Q-Stripper-Blades-Carded-Count/dp/B074F2TBNY To secure the blade and make adjustments, you'll need four M4x25mm screws and nuts. I found these to be the perfect combination for this project.
