Wide Razor Planer / Scrapper
thingiverse
I've been searching for a solution to my balsa planer tool conundrum - one that's wide enough to get the job done. Failing to find a suitable tool, I took matters into my own hands and designed one that uses standard blades. This handy tool isn't meant to replace a professional-grade planer; it's more of a DIY solution for those who need to get the job done at home. I opted for an 18mm standard blade, which is a great starting point. Now, I know what you're thinking - why not use a two-sided beveled cutting blade? Well, in my experience, a single side beveled blade works much better for this type of project. To give you a better idea, check out this example product on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/62901Q-Stripper-Blades-Carded-Count/dp/B074F2TBNY Now, to keep the blade in place and make adjustments as needed, I recommend using 4x screws and nuts. I used M4x25mm myself, but feel free to experiment with different combinations to find what works best for you.
