These needles empower students to craft their own books, a process that's both enriching and economical for teachers. With a variety of stitches at their disposal, students can choose from multiple materials to express their creativity. By incorporating note-taking, journaling, publishing, reflecting, and sharing knowledge, these needles bridge the gap between subjects like Making and Literacy. My students have successfully employed sketch-noting, brainstorming, storytelling, and even cutting out shapes that can be glued or pocketed into visual journals to represent their learning experiences.
