The small whiteboard that came with a hanger had only enough room for a single pen, which wasn't enough for me. I needed more space, so I created an add-on to store four pens instead of just one. I've been using the one for pens in use for about two years now and it works perfectly for my needs. Recently, I added the one for brushes and they seem to be a great match. The CAD source files are included in STEP format, allowing you to adapt these add-ons as needed for your own whiteboard.
