Whiteboard Now Arrow Pointer

Here is a rewritten text based on the original instructions. Hey there, I designed an arrow pointer using Photoshop with the source file included. This guy is meant to live on a whiteboard and I'm excited to see how it'll turn out. To get this going, you'll need to create a new document in Photoshop with File -> New. Set your pixels to centimeters and choose 20 x 20 cm for the dimensions. You should now have a clean slate – time to add some texture. Next up is the text tool – grab it and type 'NOW' using Marker Felt Wide font at 90pt. Now you'll likely be staring at white on white, but take a peek at your Layers panel (it's right below) – see how we've got ourselves a brand new layer? Select that Background Layer and hit Delete to wipe out the unnecessary. Time for some fun – with the text still selected, head over to Edit -> Free Transform. Zoom in close using ALT + scrollwheel – this is where things get interesting. Grab the Polygon Tool (3-sided shapes, baby!) and create a 500px wide x 800px high triangle – now you're cookin' with gas! Free Transform it if needed by pressing CMD-T. Now let's link up some sides – take that little inner "O" ring of the 'NOW' text tool and hook it to your vertical arrow, then click OK. Ta-da! Your Layers Panel just got real cluttered – merge everything (right-click -> Merge Visible) and you're off to the next stage! Remove all white bits by selecting the area with Select -> Color Range. Click that white bit and pick a Fuzziness setting around 10. Your mouse is now racing across those little pixels like it's going 0-60 – cut everything and you've removed that pesky background. Now here's where magic happens: Select -> New 3D Extrusion from Selected Layer and flip into the 3D Workspace with the arrow button next to coordinates. Make sure Millimeter is your measurement system, turn X to 90 degrees, then move down to Ground. That should do it! Rotate that camera view with Orbit Camera so you can check every angle. Then head over to Print Settings in 3D and set everything up according to Repetier specs: • Select 'Print to local' under Printer and • Ensure export STL Your Print Bed just got upgraded! Choose 'Start Print', the Start Print icon right at the bottom, or grab it from the top menu 3D -> Print settings – all systems are now set up.
