Whiteboard Marker / Pen Holder (For laser cutter or CNC Mill) (Java-language parametric)
thingiverse
The marker holder was designed for efficient production using Java-generated templates that can be optimized for laser cutting or CNC milling processes. This tool allows users to attach it securely with a screw, yet it also works stably on its own due to its enlarged base. It features storage compartments that can hold nine large markers along with two small ones, but it's effortless to edit the provided SVG template and adapt it according to your needs. Another version of this holder has been successfully created as a freestanding device, accommodating test tubes effectively. To produce precise cuts, the pre-defined slots in the downloadable SVG file have been accurately configured for snap-fit operation on high-powered laser cutters like the Epilog with 0.2mm kerf width setting used by me personally. You can simply adjust the designated variable in the stand-alone Java code to suit your machine's specifications or choose to omit this functionality altogether if you prefer. Furthermore, it is possible to CNC mill a similar holder from a solid board without hassle; all you need is to upload the SVG into online tools such as http://www.makercam.com/.
