White Rabbit with Quarz Clockwork
cults3d
When I first laid eyes on this incredible model from Reddadsteve, I instantly knew it would be the ideal Timepiece for my living room. I printed all the parts of the Rabbit at 150% and encountered no issues, with two notable exceptions: I printed the Body_Pin at 160%, except for its length, which remained unchanged. I also printed the Glasses_Lenses at 145% using Clear PETG filament. I decided to redesign the entire Timepiece from scratch, allowing it to accommodate a Quartz clockwork (measuring 55.8x55.8x15.4mm). To achieve this, I carefully removed the clockwork from an existing 3€ watch. As you can see, there are two distinct versions: Version 1 features a rounded top and worked perfectly for me, but it requires supports to print properly. In response, I created Version 2 with a square cover, which I believe is the superior design; however, I haven't had the chance to test it. I repurposed some of the original Timepiece's parts (printed at 150%) in my redesign, including: -watch_rim1 -watch_rim2 -watch_face (after drilling out its hole to a diameter of 6.5mm) -numbers One problem arose when I noticed that you could see the clockwork through the thin watch_face (made from glow-in-the-dark PLA), so I placed a sheet of paper behind it to conceal it.
