White Labs Yeast - Vial Holders
pinshape
I decided that I needed my yeast vials to stand up in the fridge, so I designed an interlocking system that can be printed off as needed. The design is based on White Labs Yeast vial dimensions, and all work is my own. If you make a derivative, please link or credit me. Please note that the dimensions may change while I work out the differences in various manufacturer's labeling heights. For example, White Labs prints their culture/product names on a lower point on the label than The Yeast Bay, and their bugs (lacto/pedio/brett) are printed differently again. I added V2 versions after noticing some small issues and refining them to use less material. I slimmed down the faces to 5mm thick instead of 10mm, made the holes smaller, and lowered the support height by 15mm as it was obscuring the product name on the vials. I also widened the mounting holes slightly and added a couple extra mm wall thickness. I then added Vial V3 to address locking issues I had with the previous shapes not quite working together. The Solidworks files are attached for anyone who wants to play with them, and I can add other formats like IGES or STP if needed. Print Settings: - Rafts: No - Supports: No - Resolution: 0.1-0.2mm - Infill: 10-20% Post-Printing Notes: It might be worth smoothing the outside of the upright supports out for about 15-20mm to ensure a clean entry into holes. Instructions: Print the top and bottom piece with flat sides set as the bottom, then mount them together. Pictures will come soon!
