I took inspiration from the original design but didn't use any of its files, so this isn't exactly a remix. The result is quite different; I was influenced by how to fix and tighten fabric in a similar way. The main differences are: 1. I'm using only two pieces instead of three (the container also acts as the retainer). This works because the gap between the outside part of the container and the insert is bigger than the one between the inside part and the insert: when you put the insert into the container, the fabric gets tight. 2. I added holes in the container to make it easier to separate the container and the insert (for example, to change the fabric). 3. I included places to stick 1cm diameter magnets. Here's how to do it: Print the two parts without support. If you want, glue 2 ø1cm magnets into 2 of the holes (there are 4 holes for magnets, but in practice, 2 magnets are enough). Wrap the insert around a piece of fabric as large as the insert. Put the insert into the container; this will tighten the fabric. Start erasing. I provided .scad files so you can adjust: * Overall sizes, called L, W and H in the code * Gaps: e is the gap between the insert and the outside part of the container; ee is the gap between the insert and the inside part. e must be larger than ee. Understand that it's not because of friction on the outside part that the two pieces stick together, but because of friction on the inside. So e could be 1 inch if it weren't for aesthetic reasons. ee should just be large enough so that you can assemble it with fabrics stuck between the two parts. You may have to increase ee if you use a thicker fabric or decrease it if you use paper like in the original design. I used an old pair of jeans, which is thick and not suitable for making covid masks anyway).
