Whistlin' Dixie Train Tracks & Connector
thingiverse
I started playing trains with my grandson on our old Whistlin' Dixie Line Wooden Train Set and discovered that some of our wooden tracks and plastic connectors were nowhere to be found. I searched Thingiverse but couldn't find what we needed, so I decided to use Solidworks to design the necessary connectors and track pieces myself. Once designed, I printed out the parts using my 3D printer and was able to complete our track set. Now we have a full working track that's perfect for off-roading! Track pieces include: - Connector - Straight track - Curve track - Short straight track Since the track pieces were quite large, I used PLA for them, which worked well with my 3D printer. For the connector, I initially tried ABS but found that PLA is a suitable substitute as well.
