Summary The original impeller plastic breaks down over time and becomes brittle. The fins on the impeller fall off and the pump stops working. This is a replacement part for the impeller. Post-Printing Assembly The impeller assembly consists of a magnet, shaft and rubber end caps. The end caps fit in a notch at the end of the shaft. They can be pulled off. Remove one end cap from the shaft and pull the assembly apart. The impeller is fitted over a white drive pinion. Pry the impeller off the pinion and replace with the printed impeller. Reassemble the impeller with the shaft and end cap. I guarantee that fits on Power Filter EX45, this one fits the model I have installed on my tank.
