This replaces Whirlpool Shelf Support Part # 4388539. The original features a wire that holds it in place, but I've opted for plastic tabs instead, and it worked flawlessly. For added strength, make it solid. To remove the old or broken one, grasp it firmly with pliers or a wrench and turn it clockwise 90 degrees. Never attempt to go counter-clockwise. Insert the new part into the rectangular hole and while holding it securely in place, turn it 90 degrees clockwise until it clicks slightly into position.
