When using the Whirlpool Gold Series ice/water dispenser, some ice may occasionally get stuck inside the dispenser but outside the freezer module. As the ice melts, it will drip onto the tray located at the bottom of the dispenser. This tray has a very slight lip, and if you open the door too quickly, the water can splash out, potentially getting you or the floor wet. However, this tray is designed to hold the water and has a lip that is several millimeters high, preventing the water from spilling over when the door is opened.
