Whetstone Guide

Made this primarily to sharpen kitchen knives on a diamond whetstone. I wanted something as close to a traditional stone sharpening as possible just with the angles taken care of. There are a few different angles of sled depending on how you prefer your knives. (You only need to print one.) Ought to work on chisels and plane blades too but I find those much easier to sharpen anyway.I build it around this stone.https://www.amazon.co.uk/Faithfull-Tools-FAIDWKIT-Diamond-Sharpening/dp/B015JMIPP0/ref=sr_1_2?c=ts&keywords=Sharpening+Stones&qid=1700557262&refinements=p_89%3AFaithfull&s=diy&sr=1-2&ts_id=1939001031It would work with anything of similar or less thickness and width. Length shouldn't matter - you'd just use longer or shorter rods.Needs two lengths of 6mm rod or pipe. I used steel. Also 4 linear bearings with 6mm ID and 12mm ED. I used these:https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07H94WKPW?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsI also used 4 M3 bolts to clamp down the rods as you can see in the picture. To be honest I'm not sure this is that necessary as the fit is fairly tight anyway, and you need to be careful not to over-tighten and strip the PLA, but there are holes for that if you want to.
