Wheelwright's Traveler measuring tool
thingiverse
This tool measures the diameter of wagon wheels to determine metal wrapping lengths around their outside edges. It can be applied to any circular object needing wrapping measurements. One rotation of the wheel equals 1 foot or 12 inches, but counting rotations is more crucial for precise measurement. The marking on the wheel serves as the starting point; I printed it in black so chalk marks can be made at the end point on the measuring wheel. Rotate the wheel around the object being measured, counting passes until reaching the starting point again, then mark the measuring wheel with chalk. This process allows you to transfer measurements to wrapping materials and find required lengths. The bolt securing the wheel is 5mm in diameter, and it only supports the handle on the build plate. A white painted marker recessed into the wheel surface makes it visible for marking purposes.
