Wheelie tote box kit
thingiverse
I recently designed some repair parts for my wife's crafting tote box after the original plastic components snapped completely. By the time I finished repairing it, I had almost enough parts to convert a small bag or box into a wheelie tote box. So, I made the remaining parts needed to do this conversion. This wheelie tote box design could also be fitted to a toolbox, transforming it into a wheelie toolbox. The exact positioning of the parts is entirely up to you. I updated the wheel from solid to a 5-spoked wheel version. If you convert a bag into a tote box, it will require a plywood insert inside the bottom of the bag for stability. Converting a box requires it to be rigid enough to support the base and stand components. The handles were made from 16mm steel tubing, approximately 76cm long or 30 inches in length. If you'd like me to add parts for different size tubing, just let me know and I'll do my best. The main parts should assemble using 6mm or 1/4-inch bolts. The wheels can be fitted with 6mm or 1/4-inch bolts and locknuts. To secure the handles, use 3mm bolts or thin screws through the holes in the handle and base. Printing in PLA or ABS is fine. The base part should be printed in the supplied orientation with supports. No supports are required for any other parts. Raft or brim printing isn't necessary unless you really need them. You can add a thin rubber tire to the wheels after printing by wrapping a layer or two of self-amalgamating tape around them, but don't wrap it over the sides or the wheels won't fit properly or may bind. This was a quick project, so please forgive me if I'm unclear or have missed anything - just let me know.
