Novel 3D Printer Spoolholder Inspired by London's Retro Design circa 1980. Print this innovative spoolholder in several sections, primarily held together by sturdy 4mm screws. The central hub part is removable, making it easy to substitute with spools of various sizes. The left and right feet are hollow, providing ample space to fill with sand, lead shot, or ball bearings for added weight. Conveniently, the foot endcaps are detachable. Printer Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: A mix of 20%, 50%, and 80% infill Notes: Printed with PLA material on 22/11/2016 Important Note: Avoid sending the main body part to Makeprintable, as it alters the slots where the legs fit, for some unknown reason. The modified Main Body and Legs have been uploaded, featuring a minor adjustment designed to avoid the thin perimeter at the top end of the legs. To print this spoolholder, follow these guidelines: Print the main body with its large flat side facing down on the bed, using 0.2mm resolution, 20% infill, and full support. Print the feet vertically on the bed, closed side facing down, at 0.2mm resolution, 20% infill with support enabled. Print the endcaps with their large flat side facing down on the bed, at 0.2mm resolution, 20% infill - support is not crucial here. Print the legs with their large flat side facing up on the bed for maximum strength, using 0.2mm resolution and 80% infill. Finally, print the Hub with its flat side facing down on the bed, at 0.2mm resolution and 50% infill for added strength. After assembly, cleaning, and testing, give your spoolholder a makeover by spraying primer, followed by rust-coloured paint, and finally a coat of yellow paint to achieve a worn, rusty look.
