Wheelchair Protector Santalab
thingiverse
Wheelchair Protector Organized by Santalab (Santa Fe Public Innovation Laboratory) together with the POETA Training Center - CILSA, Argentina. Three meetings were held with the community where 3D prototypes of protective accessories for sports wheelchairs were co-created. It seeks to provide an alternative and low-cost solution that solves the problem of people who use wheelchairs to perform different sports disciplines. Industrial Design students and professionals, Technology teachers, Engineering students, and CILSA wheelchair basketball players in the city of Santa Fe, Argentina participated. During the day, the details of the problem were shared: the need for a mass cover for the central part of the wheelchair due to the frequency with which damage occurs in athletes. Prototypes and tests were carried out until reaching the definitive model. The protective accessory to cover the mass of most sports wheelchairs is used to prevent injuries resulting from the impacts of the game.
