A mobile chair is a versatile piece of furniture with wheels, designed to be an alternative for those who have trouble walking. The device comes in different variations where it can be propelled by electric motors or manually by the seated individual turning the rear wheels with their hands. Many models also come equipped with handles behind the seat allowing another person to do the pushing. Mobile chairs are utilized by individuals whose walking abilities are severely compromised due to medical conditions (such as chronic illnesses), injuries, or physical disabilities. People who experience both sitting and walking limitations often require using a mobility aid like this type of chair. The earliest recorded use of wheeled furniture dates back to ancient civilizations in Asia and Europe during the 6th century B.C., where a stone inscription was discovered and an ancient Greek vase depicted a child's bed with wheels. This technology gained popularity among Europeans during the Renaissance period. Mechanical engineers Harry Jennings and his disabled friend Herbert Everest invented the first lightweight, collapsible wheelchair made of steel in 1933. Herbert had broken his back in a mining accident which led to their creation. Key Features: This 3D prop set for DAZ Studio includes two props: a wheelchair and its folded version. Each model consists of approximately 42,479 polygons. The rear wheels are capable of rotating freely while the front wheels can steer in different directions. There are various parts that can be adjusted or hidden such as the foot rests, front panel, handlebars, seat cushion, and stabilizer. Pose Control dials are included which enable users to rotate all the wheels, steer the front wheels, and adjust various poses like sitting back, hiding or showing certain features of the wheelchair. Textures/Materials: The 3D prop comes with both 3Delight and Iray materials, including color options for the frame (black, imperial blue, red), handlebars (black, imperial blue, navy, red), and seat (black, brown lite, brown, imperial blue, plaid, red). DAZ Studio optimization was performed by Todd Kogutt and Scavenger Graphics to enhance its performance.
