Wheelchair Bearing Inside Diameter (ID) Measurement Tool

In the USA, a wheelchair can utilize a combination of both Imperial and Metric bearings. To make measuring wheelchair bearings more accessible, I created a simple tool that allows anyone to measure their bearings without needing calipers. The tool consists of two versions: one flat and one round, both functioning identically. Four diameters are staggered from smallest to largest on each tool. They are as follows: 608 (8mm ID), R6 (3/8" ID), 6001 (12mm ID), and R8 (1/2" ID) in that order. Insert the tool into the bearing, and if it fits into one space, it's a 602 or an 8mm ID bearing. If it fits into two spaces, it's an R6 or a 3/8" ID bearing. If it fits into three spaces, it's a 6001 or a 12mm ID bearing. And if it goes all the way back, it's an R8 or a 1/2" ID bearing. If you have questions or want to discuss wheelchair bearings, feel free to comment here and connect with me.
