Wheel project

I'm tackling a project that involves designing a wheel system where the outer rim is free to rotate while the central hub remains stationary. My objective is to achieve this unique dynamic without compromising the structural integrity of the wheel. To begin with, I envision using a combination of advanced materials and innovative design principles to ensure the outer ring's stability during rotation. One possible approach could be employing a high-strength, low-weight material for the rim while utilizing a robust yet lightweight central hub. Another aspect to consider is the mechanical connection between the rotating outer ring and the stationary central hub. A sophisticated bearing system or advanced transmission mechanism might be necessary to facilitate smooth rotation without introducing excessive friction or wear on the wheel's components. One potential challenge I foresee is maintaining even traction and stability throughout the wheel's circumference, particularly when subjected to varying loads or environmental conditions. This could be mitigated by incorporating specialized traction-enhancing features or optimizing the wheel's aerodynamics to reduce the impact of external factors. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this project, as well as any suggestions you might have for overcoming these challenges and achieving a stable yet rotating outer ring design.
