Wheel Modelling Exercise

I'm really struggling to achieve the effects I want by relying on simple modifiers. More practice is definitely needed. I've been experimenting with screw, bevel, array, and subsurf tools, but my scene has ballooned to over 250K faces - that's just ridiculous! I'm thrilled with the final result as it's my first proper model, but I've got a long way to go before I reach my full potential. And right now, I feel like I'm stuck in neutral, waiting for momentum to kick in.
