Human beings are a species of primates known as Homo sapiens. They are the only living members of the genus Homo. They inhabit almost every habitat on Earth and they have developed diverse ways of life, depending on their environment. Humans are characterized by their bipedalism; that is, they walk upright on two legs. This allows them to use their hands for other activities while walking. Human brains are the largest among all animals, allowing them advanced cognitive abilities. They are a highly social species and live in complex societies with cultures based on language, customs, and traditions.
