Wheel Chock - 65mm (2.5 inch)
myminifactory
A sturdy scale wheel chock for medium size model aircraft boasts a wider base, designed to stabilize the aircraft's wheels in the hangar and at the field with ease. The chocks can be effortlessly 3D printed without any support on a modern, affordable 3D printer. These objects can be printed using various materials, such as PLA, PETG, ABS, and other types of printable materials. PLA works exceptionally well for this application, making it easy to print durable wheel chock parts that are simple to maintain and long-lasting. However, they should not be stored or exposed to high temperatures exceeding ~55 C (~ 130 F). If the wheel chocks are left in a high-temperature environment, such as a parked car on a hot summer day, I strongly recommend using another heat-tolerant material like PETG or ABS to prevent warping. I have successfully used these wheel chocks since 2018 to stabilize my .40 to .60 size models both at the field and in my hangar. They work exceptionally well to prevent the model from rolling off a table. The model aircraft pictured is a 68-in., 8.8-lb (~1.3 m, 4 kg), Black Horse Wilga, courtesy of Jim Ogorek.
