Wheatley Echo dot
thingiverse
Just so we are all clear, the cake is a myth. Now that that's out of the way, this is a version of Wheatley from Portal 2. I have no affiliations with the creators of Portal or Amazon's echo dot. Yes, you read that right - this is no ordinary Wheatley. This should be able to hold an Echo Dot so you can talk to it just like you would talk to Wheatley. It also has a port in the back that allows for attaching a .5" diameter rod so it can hang from the ceiling. I'll post pictures when fully finished and printed. Made to fit Echo Dot Gen 2, this thing is huge - 6.3 inches in diameter. I suggest printing face down. Update: February 26, 2018 You still haven't found that cake? Of course not! But while you were wasting your time searching for it, I made Wheatley a lot better. Now it prints in two pieces and has a mount to hold the Echo Dot securely. I tried to keep things simple. I'll add photos when the whole thing is painted. Update: May 7, 2018 These test chambers just get tougher and tougher! I'm glad I have my trusty Wheatley here to help me out. Speaking of which, I added top and bottom bars in several STL files. There are files with both the top and bottom bars for those who have enough space to print them together, but for those short on space, I included single pieces. I've got all my parts printed now (although I made a mistake by forgetting to tolerance the bars to fit into the body - don't worry, it's fixed) and am working on assembly and painting. If you beat me to finishing Wheatley, feel free to add your own pictures!
