What A Tanker! Markers and Board
thingiverse
These are WIP markers for the Too Fat Lardies Game "What A Tanker!". The main board idea is to laminate a blank page of paper, cut to size, superglue it to the back of the board, and instantly create a 3D plastic sheet that can be written on with fine-tipped markers while saving trees. Printing the sheet and laminating it would be too boring, so let's go for three-dimensional, 3D-man style! I've thought about spray painting the boards in various nation colors, but this might lead to multiple boards being unusable at a time, so instead I'll add numbers to each tank to link them. Maybe I can print out six boards and spray paint two colors for two teams, but what if there are three players? In that case, I'll just spray paint all the boards silver, add some rust finishes, and leave it at that. The Universal Tanker Tool is included, along with numbers 1 through 12. These can be printed in larger and smaller sizes, with the larger one being placed in a bag to be taken out randomly. You're invited to paint the numbers on them and make the markers striking by using a different color or spraying them with gloss. It took me about six hours to create these WIP markers, and I had a lot of fun doing it. I'm developing a passion for 3D printing and experimenting with new designs while giving back to the community that's filled my tables with amazing 3D printed terrain and models, mostly from this site. It seems fitting to share this evening's effort. As soon as my printer is up and running again, I'll print this out and post photos of it in use, along with any modifications it needs. If someone else prints it, please give me feedback, as I'm new to this, especially when it comes to gapping, alignment, scripting, and lettering – which always seems to be a challenge for me. This is an ongoing project for now, so I hope you find some enjoyment out of it. Sincerely, Stevo the Divo
