The whale shark (Rhincodon typus) is a large fish species, boasting an impressive length of approximately 12 meters. As the largest existing fish on Earth, it feeds by filtering its food through its enormous mouth. Found in warm tropical and subtropical waters, this massive creature has likely inhabited our planet for around 60 million years.
